These terms apply when you use the RememberMe website or mobile apps, order a memorial plaque, or create a tribute page. By placing an order or creating an account, you accept them. Please read the sections on engraving accuracy and returns in particular — a personalized plaque cannot be resold, so the rules differ from ordinary purchases.
1. Your account
- You must give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account or place an order.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
2. About these terms
"RememberMe", "we" and "us" mean the business operating this website, its mobile applications and the related memorial pages. "You" means the person using the service or placing an order. If you are ordering on behalf of a family or an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.
3. Orders and pricing
Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract forms only when we confirm the order and payment has been taken. We may decline an order — for example where an item is unavailable, a price was listed in error, or the requested engraving breaches these terms.
- Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and exclude delivery unless stated.
- Taxes and any import duties are your responsibility unless we say otherwise.
- Payment is taken in full at checkout through our payment provider.
- Product photographs are illustrative; natural stone and metal vary slightly in grain and tone.
4. Personalization and proofing
Every plaque is engraved to order with the text, artwork and font you choose. Before confirming, please check spelling, names, dates and punctuation carefully.
We engrave exactly what you submit. We do not correct spelling or change wording. Once production has begun, a mistake in the text you supplied cannot be undone, and a replacement will be charged as a new order.
You confirm that any name, image, emblem or artwork you supply is yours to use, and that you have the consent of the family or estate where it is needed. We may decline engraving that appears to infringe someone's rights.
5. Production and delivery
Production times quoted at checkout are estimates and begin once your personalization is confirmed. Delivery is handled by a third-party carrier, and timings depend on them and on your location.
- Risk passes to you on delivery to the address you gave us.
- Please check your order on arrival and report any damage or defect within 14 days, with photographs.
- We are not responsible for delays outside our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, customs and severe weather.
- An incorrect or incomplete delivery address may mean a re-delivery charge.
6. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Because each plaque is made to order and personalized, it cannot be resold, and the usual right to change your mind does not apply once production has started.
- Before production starts — contact us as soon as possible and we will cancel and refund in full where we can.
- Faulty or damaged goods — we will repair, replace or refund an item that arrives damaged, defective, or engraved differently from what you approved.
- Errors in the text you supplied — not covered, as set out above.
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days of approval.
Nothing here limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
7. Memorial pages and QR codes
Plaques with QR integration link to an online memorial page you control. You choose whether it is public or restricted, and whether visitors may leave likes, comments and tributes.
- A public memorial can be viewed by anyone with the link or the plaque, and may appear in search results.
- You are responsible for the content of the memorial and for moderating tributes left on it.
- We host memorial pages for as long as we offer the service, but we cannot guarantee availability forever. Keep your own copies of photographs and text that matter to you.
- We may remove content that breaches these terms or that we are legally required to take down.
8. Your content and the rights you grant
Photographs, biographies, obituaries, tributes and engraving text remain yours. By uploading them, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the limited purpose of operating the service — producing your plaque and showing the memorial page to the audience you chose.
This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period or where we must keep records by law. We will not use your memorial content in marketing without asking you first.
9. Acceptable use
When using the service or submitting content, you must not:
- Post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, obscene or defamatory, including on a memorial page.
- Impersonate another person, or create a memorial for someone without a genuine connection or the family's agreement.
- Upload material you do not have the rights to, or that infringes a trade mark or copyright.
- Attempt to breach, probe or disrupt the service, or submit code or scripts through our forms.
- Scrape, harvest or bulk-download memorial pages or the personal information on them.
- Use the service to send unsolicited marketing.
10. Our intellectual property
The RememberMe name and logo, the website and app design, our photography, product descriptions and the artwork and fonts we provide belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, adapt or reuse them commercially without our written permission. Artwork and fonts offered in the designer are licensed for use on your own plaque only.
11. Service availability
We aim to keep the website, apps and memorial pages available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, updates or technical work, and we may change or withdraw features over time.
12. Product warranty and disclaimers
Plaques are manufactured to be durable outdoors. Weathering, sunlight and cleaning products will still affect appearance over time, and natural materials change with age; this is not a defect. Follow any care guidance supplied with your order.
Apart from the warranties we give in these terms and any rights you have by law, the service is provided "as is" without further warranties of any kind.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data, and our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
14. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we are required to do so. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your memorial content.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the terms in force when you placed an order are the ones that apply to it. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
